The second quarter of the year has been an absolute blast for NVA Canada! We've had the incredible opportunity to connect deeply with our awesome community across the country. From visiting hospitals on the west and east coasts to even making it down to St. Kitts, we've been everywhere! We've had so many valuable and fun conversations about expanding the care we offer to pets and their amazing owners. Plus, we've been busy attending some fantastic conferences that we thoroughly enjoyed. Our community of passionate, dedicated people has made all of this possible, and we're beyond grateful for the support and camaraderie we've experienced. Here's to more great times ahead!
HMs and lead RVTs from BC hospitals came together to discuss RVT recruitment strategies. At NVA Canada, we appreciate the invaluable contributions of RVTs in delivering comprehensive veterinary care. Here we empower you with the tools and resources needed to excel in your role and advance your career. Recognizing and respecting the unique passions and interests of each RVT, we place great importance on understanding and supporting your individual journey, ensuring your career feels fulfilling and meaningful to you.
In the spring, we welcomed Dr. Angela Oakley to our team at Park Veterinary Centre. We had the pleasure of spending time with her at CVMA 2024 in Calgary shortly after.
Dr. Oakley chairs the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association disability & DEI work group, speaks at conferences, and advises clinics on accessibility.
Dr. Oakley brings strong surgical, dental, and ultrasound skills to the NVA Canada community. She is a University of Saskatchewan graduate and actively participates in adaptive sports, including skiing with the Canadian Paralympic Nordic/Biathlon team and hand cycling.
At NVA Canada, diversity, equity, and inclusion are core to our beliefs. We are honoured to have Dr. Oakley as part of our community.
Our Mentees were at our Support Centre in Oakville, Ontario during the total eclipse. We were excited to participate in the action (safely) together!
Doctors in our Veterinary Mentorship Program building community, honing their professional skills, and witnessing the solar eclipse at our 2024 Spring Gathering in Oakville. Demonstrating excellent technique in Orthopedic Examinations, Dr. Kaitlyn Wurzer ('23) and Tommi Chisolm.
We'd love to connect! Be sure to come say hi if you're attending any overlapping events in the upcoming months.
